MOD #5: Upgrading The Bass
My friend Russ and I were standing in his garage when I noticed a subwoofer in a box with the amp attached. I asked him how much and told him I’d do better than his request. He asked for $300 for the complete set and I gave him $400. We both won!
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Moderate
INSTALL TIME: I actually didn’t install this, I just figured it was cheaper to pay someone else to do this one. I went to Car Toys Audio
WHY? The already built-in Bose sound great, but I found myself cranking the bass to the max and just wishing for a little bit more. As a DJ, I have fine-tuned my sub so that you only hear it on the lower frequencies where the bass really is in music, vs those who want their car to rattle at every note of the song. Now at least if someone does ask if I have a good sound system, I can tell them i “ALWAYS” have a good sound system.

AMP PLACEMENT: My installer chose under the rear-passenger seats for the amp. So folding the seats down, as shown here, then again to release the seats forward, exposing floorboard (these are the carpets you need to clean when you’re at the car wash).
