Hi, I’m Robert. Most of the upgrades you see on my 2019 Chevy Tahoe came from a mix of necessity and curiosity. This project did not happen in isolation. It grew out of conversations, experiments, and a lot of hands-on work with people who pushed the idea further than I would have on my own.
The project started on April 26, 2022. I was driving my friend Harvey O. from Las Vegas to Havasu when I saw a Dodge Charger with a hood stripe. I pictured how that look would translate to the Tahoe. By the time we reached Havasu, we had mapped out multiple color concepts and started testing ideas right away, including an early attempt at tinting the rear taillights. That first attempt was rough, but it set the direction for everything that followed.
Friends encouraged me to keep building. Kay and Tom A., John and Kelly K., and others gave steady feedback and helped shape the direction of the project. Several people made direct contributions that had a clear impact on the final result:
• Mitchell S. helped tear apart the rear interior to install the upper taillight and stayed on it until the job was done.
• Robert S. suggested painting the window columns to create a continuous wraparound look.
• Russ A. supplied the amp, sub, and enclosure, then helped tune the system after installation. He also helped source the rims.
• Mike M. worked through the taillight upgrades with me. We learned a lot during that process.
• Nick J. pushed me to skip seat covers and go with a full Katzkin Custom Upholstery setup.
• Anthony and the team at Car Toyz Audio handled a clean audio installation.
• Ace Tinting Tinting completed the limo tint.
• Scott W. at Low Down Chop Shop & Kustom Paint brought the paint vision to life, handled the headlamp housing replacement, installed the underglow lighting, and is lined up for future work.
I also want to thank my now-wife, Jamie, for her steady support and shared excitement as parts and packages kept arriving.
This site is to share each modification, what worked, what did not, and what I would change next time. If you are considering similar upgrades, you should find practical ideas and real-world lessons throughout the project.
