MOD #1: Govee LED Smart Interior Car Lights

This post represents our very first mod.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL:  Easy/Beginner

INSTALL TIME:  Approximately 45 minutes and lots of bending and squeezing into the driver and passenger floorboard space and second row.

WHY?  I had done this in my Ford Edge, a vehicle I had prior to my Chevy Tahoe – so I was familiar with how easy these were to install. It’s a quick modification that can be done in any vehicle.  I’ve gotten compliments in the past from passengers who have appreciated a more lit-up interior, with visibility to easily locate dropped or almost lost items.  Quite frankly, I just think it looks cool.
COST: $16.99
CONS: The lead wire to power is not very long.  In a typical “cigarette lighter” situation for most people, this would be fine.  I however cut off the cigarette adapter and added more wire to reach a [drivers-side fuse box] fuse, that comes on after the auxiliary power is turned on.  I am going to relocate the lead to a power source controlled by the headlights so that when I unlock the doors and open them, they are already on.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?  I could do a “How I Installed This” video if you’re interested in installing but hesitant because you think it may be too difficult? It’s not.  Something else I can answer for you on this mod?
